Analytics Architect

Raphaël obtained a Master in Business Engineering from the Louvain School of Management in 2017. He started his career as a Management Consulting Analyst at Accenture in the Health and Public Services practice. This allowed him to develop project management skills and gain IT knowledge. He then decided to take on a new challenge as a Management Analyst for environment.brussels. There he contributed to the implementation of a performance management tool.

Analysing data daily raised his interest in evolving technically. He, therefore, started a 6-month part-time boot camp in Data Science at le Wagon. As part of this programming training, he built together with fellow students, a web application to detect emotions in the voice using deep learning.

From there on, he decided to pursue this path and started a new job at Keyrus as a Consultant in the Big Data and Advanced Analytics team. He was staffed on a mission in the Location Analytics team of Proximus. This team's objective is to deliver location-based insights to businesses, using telecom big data sources, third-party data, and open data. His main responsibilities were to build various data pipelines and to improve the Python package used by the team to allow faster and more efficient deliveries. Through this mission, he acquired hands-on experience with Apache Airflow, Apache Hive, Microsoft Azure, and geospatial data tools (PostgreSQL, QGIS and geopandas). During this time he also got Microsoft Azure Fundamentals and Azure Data Engineer Associate certified.

Raphaël started working at element61 in September 2022 as Analytics Architect with a focus on Data Engineering. During his first projects, he gained expertise in building Lakehouse architectures with Databricks and in BI tools (Power BI, Grafana). After getting certified in Databricks Data Engineering and Apache Spark, Raphaël was also recognised as a Databricks Champion.
