Jasper Penneman

Jasper is a Data Scientist/Engineer at element61. He has hands-on experience in Azure & Databricks to build enterprise Lakehouses, data pipelines, and end-to-end data science use cases, like demand forecasting and customer segmentation.

Jasper graduated in 2019 with a Master of Business Engineering in Management Information Systems at the University of Antwerp. In 2018 he went to a summer school in China to study the business environment of this intriguing country.

He further specialized in the data field by obtaining a 1-year Master Artificial Intelligence at KU Leuven in 2020. During this Master's, Jasper gathered his first business experience in the world of data as he did a 4-month internship at the element61 Data Science & Strategy team.

During his academic career, Jasper gained profound knowledge of various Data Science topics and the usage of several programming languages like MATLAB and Python.

Jasper has always been interested in businesses using technology and data to enhance their performance.

As a first work experience, he joined a Technology consulting firm in the insurance industry, giving him practical insights into the opportunities of technology and data. During his job as a Business Analyst, he also gained hands-on experience in Power BI and SQL.
