Daniel obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration at KU Leuven. During his studies, he discovered the importance of data when it comes to driving strategic business decisions, which inspired him to further specialize with a Master in Information Management at the same university.
He started his career as a data engineer at AG Insurance, where he played a key leadership role in migrating a legacy SAS on-prem Data Warehouse to a modern Azure Lakehouse architecture. After successfully delivering the migration, Daniel transitioned into a technical deep-dive role where he gained extensive hands-on experience developing and maintaining reusable frameworks for the data engineers in his team. Additionally, he designed and implemented an Azure-native FinOps solution which successfully reduced annual cloud costs by 30% through targeted data-driven interventions.
Daniel is a Certified Databricks Data Engineer Professional with a natural drive for complex problem-solving. Beyond his technical expertise, he takes great interest in languages, history, psychology, and philosophy, and likes to relax with fitness, music, comedy, and quality time with family and friends.
