Charles specialized in the marketing side of Data Science by pursuing the Master in Marketing Analysis at Ghent University, from which he graduated in 2018.

During his Master in Marketing Analysis, Charles gained profound insights and skills in Data Science topics & techniques such as predictive analytics in Python, R and SAS, and building deep neural networks in Keras.

Prior to his specialization in Data Science, Charles graduated as a Business Engineer in Operations Management at the same university in 2017.

During his studies, Charles was part of a one-year exchange program with the Kobe University in Japan where he deep-dived into the Japanese culture of Operations Management. In that year, he also did an internship at Village Island Co., Ltd. in Tokyo, researching new opportunities in the broadcasting and telecom industry. During this research, Charles came into contact with Big Data and all the exciting opportunities Data Science offers, and decided to specialize another year in this innovative domain. To gain some more professional experience while studying, Charles worked for the Cookware Company in Belgium where he set up and maintained Sales dashboards for the e-commerce department.

Charles joined element61 in 2018 and worked since on a variety of strategic and data science projects for over 25 customers across different industries (Retail, HR, e-commerce, telecom, automotive, manufacturing & publishers). He's a certified technical expert in Azure Data Engineering, Azure AI Engineer and Databricks Spark Development. In addition, Charles gained expertise in Marketing technology incl. DMP/CDP technology. Charles is an excellent data translator helping various customers in translating business analytics & AI ambitions into technical realizations that bring value to the client.
