Data Governance Architect

Túlio obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering with a specialisation in Mathematical Modelling from Universidade de São Paulo (USP). During his studies, he honed skills in numerical simulations and statistics, co-authored two papers on biofuel reaction optimisation, and received a Brazilian CNPQ scholarship. In 2019, he started his career at Solvay Brazil as a Business Intelligence Junior Analyst, focusing on data mining and competitor product reporting, and developing a statistical method for analysing competitor pricing.

During the pandemic, Túlio specialised in Data Science and joined a Brazilian startup as a Pricing Data Scientist, where he developed a multi-armed bandit approach for pricing experiments using Bayesian statistics. He also gained experience with Spark in Databricks, advanced SQL, and fraud detection algorithms. In 2022, he moved to Shooju as a Data Product Engineer, transforming business needs into data engineering pipelines for clients like TIM, Solvay, and Unilever.

A year later, Túlio moved to Lisbon and joined NOS, initially as a Data Scientist and later as a Data Engineer and Architect. At NOS, he collaborated with the Mobile Coverage department on a project using DBSCAN for mobile signal coverage analysis. He extensively used Google Cloud services and implemented Airflow and Terraform for infrastructure improvements. Túlio worked on various projects, including data ingestion, big data processing, and log centralisation.

In 2025, Túlio relocated to Antwerp as his partner received an offer at UZA. He left his previous job due to the lack of remote work options and is now starting at element61. Túlio enjoys sports, regularly goes to the gym, loves playing football, and is eager to learn new languages.

Túlio joined element61 in September 2025.
