The mission at Distrilog started after a roadmap study to investigate their needs for Business Analytics and improvements to their current reporting. After this element61 was asked to kick-start this program. This consisted of building a data warehouse and a reporting layer to support their management/operational reporting and closing process. Data is being collected from various operational systems going from order transport management to invoicing and accounting to management of the warehouse. During the first phase, Navision data was sourced into the data warehouse (SQL Server/SSIS) and made available for Reporting via Cognos BI. The data warehouse also feeds the Cognos Controller system that enables them to do a more frequent and faster consolidation of the different company transactions.
