Big data is a much discussed and hyped topic in IT land nowadays, but its true meaning is not always that clear and easy to define.

Budgetteren is het proces van inschatten van kosten en opbrengsten om een bedrijfsdoel te realiseren. Budgettering is het begroten van bedragen die toegewezen worden aan inkomsten en kosten voor een organisatie in de toekomst. De meeste bedrijven zullen één maal per jaar een budget opstellen, terwijl andere organisatie’s drie tot vijf jaar vooruit budgetteren.

The goal of a budget is to indicate where the business wants to evolve to. Budgeting is setting up pre-allocated amounts for future revenues and expenses for your organization. Most companies will budget one year at a time. Some will budget for 3 years and some companies budget up to 5 years ahead.

Alerts and notifications refer to any automated signals or short messages that may be sent through a SMS, an email or an indicator in a dashboard or report. They are a call to action after a specific event has occurred. They are also used to assign tasks or inform the recipients about certain urgent issues. Alerts can be the result of the outcome of a report or specific queries.
