An extractor is the program in SAP ERP which can be activated to prepare and capture the data through an extract structure for transfer to BW. The extractor can be the result of a standard DataSource or a custom built DataSource. It can describe a full load or a delta load process of different types.

SAP delivers a set of standard SAP BW objects and even full data flows including queries, workbooks, roles … which can be installed from the Business Content. Clients can use these objects in their custom data flows, or use them as a starting point for their project.

Statistics are Business Content objects available to analyse the BW performance and usage statistics. The content includes full data flows to track the necessary data to report these statistics.

De ‘BW statistieken’ is standaard Business Content beschikbaar om performantie- en gebruikstatistieken te analyzeren. Dit zijn volledige datastromen die kunnen worden geactiveerd om de nodige data bij te houden om deze statistieken te berekenen.

An Open Hub Destination is created in order to transfer BW data to a flat file, database table or directly to a third-party tool. It is mapped to an InfoProvider by means of a transformation.

Een InfoSource is een concept dat verplicht was in de oude 3.x dataflows.Het was een view die het mogelijk maakte SAP velden te mappen met InfoObjecten, aanwezig tussen DataSource en InfoProvider.In de nieuwste versie is dit geen verplicht object, maar het is nog steeds beschikbaar. Men komt dit nog steeds tegen in verschillende Business Content dataflows.

The SAP BW InfoSource is a concept which used to be mandatory in a 3.x dataflow.It is a view that had to be created between the DataSource and InfoProvider, to map the SAP fields to InfoObjects.In the newer versions it is not a mandatory object anymore. However the object is still available to use and will be found in different Business Content data flows.

Whenever you send data or launch a package, the default formulas will run as well. It is important to not put too many in default, otherwise the system will become slower.
