ECS was looking for a reporting solution on their financials. They wanted to be able to define report lines as a summation or a subtraction of Genral Ledger (GL) accounts and/or Cost Centers. During the analysis phase it became clear that the exact “definition” of each report line was subject to change over time. As such, a dynamic solution using Master Data Services (MDS) was chosen. The business users now have full control over their reports. They use MDS to map GL accounts and Cost Centers to specific report lines and can do so at any time with full flexibility.
