Dark data

Dark data is het type van ongestructureerd, ongelabelde en ongebruikte data die nog niet is gestructureerd noch geanalyseerd. Het concept wordt vaak gelinkd met 'big data' maar verschilt in het oogpunt dat het vaak genegeerd wordt door bedrijfs- en IT-mensen zoals bevoorbeeld gebruikerslogs en call center logs. Net zoals 'dark matter' in fysica omvat 'dark data' vaak het overgrote deel van een organizatie's data.
