Jasper Penneman

Jasper is a Data Scientist/Engineer at element61. He works hands-on in Azure & Databricks to build data pipeline, data transformations and end-to-end data science use-cases. Jasper graduated in 2019 as a Master Business Engineering in Management Information Systems at the University of Antwerp. In 2018 he went on a Summerschool in China to study the business environment of this intriguing country.

He further specialized in the data field by obtaining the 1-year Master Artificial Intelligence with great distinction at the KU Leuven in 2020. During this Master, Jasper gathered his first business experience in the world of data as he did a 4-month internship at the element61 Data Science & Strategy team.

During his academic career, Jasper gained profound knowledge on various Data Science topics and the usage of several programming languages like MATLAB and Python.

Jasper has always been interested by businesses using technology and data to enhance their performance.

As a first work experience, he joined a Technology consulting firm in the insurance industry, giving him practical insights on the opportunities of technology and data. During his job as a Business Analyst he also gained hands-on experience on Power BI and SQL.
