Meat&More is a fast-growing company in the food industry specialising in meat and ready-to-eat products. Meat&More is end-to-end active from production to retail-sales with production, logistics and administration centralized in Aalter.
element61 developed for this customer an AI driven approach for Demand Forecasting in a production environment. The aim of the project was to use historical data and predict demand for products through Machine Learning Techniques in order to beter steer and manage the Supply Chain.
The resulting hybrid architecture includes an on-premise Microsoft SQL Server database (data warehouse) and the Microsoft Azure Cloud for the Data Science & AI functionality. The data platform was build on Azure Cloud and leveraged latest technologies including R, Spark, Azure Batch and Docker.
