Career Start @element61

Graduated and ready to kick-start your Analytics Career at element61?

Interested in discovering what your Continuous Learning trajectory will be like in the first year?
Where do we start …

At element61, we value the high standards of education from which our Young Starters have been graduating. This is a very solid backbone and foundation to get into an Analytics Career. That being said: It’s just the start of a nice journey.

After our welcome day, we offer a complete onboarding program consisting of training sessions, dedicated coaches and -the real thing- shadowing on exciting and innovative customer projects, already quickly after your start.

All our starters get into Dimensional Data Modeling, which is next to a Modern Data Platform THE foundational layer of every solid Analytics solution. Depending on your specialisation within our Competence Centers, you will be trained in T-SQL, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, TimeXtender, Qlik or our Performance Management offerings.

After this Induction Program, starters will be onboarded onto customer projects and will get the opportunity to grow from shadowing towards hands-on via our coaching & co-development model with our customers. Next to this, everyone will work out a dedicated Personal Development Plan allowing further growth and defining certifications to be obtained.

During the year, we keep on investing in Knowledge through our Content Development Program and Knowledge Sharing Days in which colleagues share their recent findings and best practices amongst the teams and knowledge areas. This is key in building up and maintaining our Leading Edge position within Analytics.

In the months after your start, you will also join our “Training Thursdays”. Every 3rd Thursday of the month, we organize training sessions on Soft Skills and Functional knowledge.

Below are a series of examples of training sessions that are part of our annual "Training Thursdays" internal Academy program.

  • Project Management

Get a broad introduction to Project Management, its key components and the differences between various Project Management approaches including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall and Spotify. What makes a Project Manager successful? Learn about Change Management, Status meetings, Project Risk, Project Sponsors, Impact Analysis, Communication Plans, RACI, …

  • Finance For Non-Financials

Analytics on Finance data are typically amongst the most common use cases in our profession. Get familiar with key finance concepts including Assets and liabilities, Balance sheet, Capex and Opex, Cash flow, Costs by function/by nature, Current assets, Debt, EBIT and EBITDA, Equity, Fixed assets, GAAP, Gross margin, Internal vs external reporting, Net Profit margin, Profit & Loss (P&L), Profit centres versus Cost centres, Working capital, …

  • Insights Discovery

At the very start of the self-awareness journey is Insights Discovery. A psychometric tool based on the psychology of Carl Jung, Insights Discovery is built to help people understand themselves, understand others, and make the most of the relationships that affect them in the workplace.
The Insights Discovery methodology uses a simple and memorable four-colour model to help people understand their style, their strengths and the value they bring to the team. We call these the colour energies, and it's the unique mix of Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow, Earth Green and Cool Blue energies, which determines how and why people behave the way they do.

  • Personal Productivity

“Digital Communication for Remote Teams” is a challenge for every company. E-mail, WhatsApp, Teams, … are all used on a daily basis to communicate with each other, which might feel like a battle sometimes, fighting information overload. But not for long now!
During this training, we will provide you with practical tips to handle our digital communication tools more quickly and efficiently.
After this training you will be able to handle e-mail, chat and other incoming messages more efficiently, making more time available for other tasks. Also, we will learn how to write shorter and more structured digital texts and avoid information overloads and diffusions.

  • Speaking with Impact

Have a great idea? Better to deliver it with Impact!
Presentations, speeches, meetings…. Speaking in front of a small or big group will make or break your career!

Here’s the number 1 mistake: you have it or you don’t have it. It’s a gift.

No, it’s not! Jumping out or staying hidden is a choice. You too can learn relatively easy and fast how to speak with Impact anytime you speak. Just follow the proven 7-step SYSTEM. In this training, you will find your M.U.S.T.A.R.D.

  • Storytelling

“Facts and figures!". That is what the world of business is all about. No subjectivity and emotional sentiments, but in-depth analyses and complete objectivity.
This can surely be interesting, but it isn't inspiring, it lacks emotions and not everybody can easily identify with facts and data. Most people can identify with a story, it affects them, convinces them, and encourages them to act. Storytelling can make or break any initiative.
A poor storyteller can butcher even the best ideas, while a strong storyteller can present a daunting concept with care and compassion for their audience. It’s how you inspire an audience and lead an organization.

  • Phished.io

Improve your cyber resilience by training around personal ICT security best practices. Phished.io strives for behavioural change through a holistic combination of personalised simulations, security awareness training sessions, active reporting and threat intelligence. Phished improves your Behavioural Risk Score by teaching you the skills necessary to spot and deal with real-life cyber threats. AI-driven phishing and smishing simulations help you face your security weaknesses and improve upon them.

  • Supply Chain Management 101

The growing importance of the Supply Chain is noticeable everywhere: from the production sector to the service industry and in both the B2B and B2C environments. This has become even more true in the last few years due to disruptions caused by Covid, the energy crisis & regional war conflicts. Companies must improve the performance of their supply chain to meet customer expectations and absorb disruptions: top quality, competitive prices, on-time deliveries, etc. And the integration of internal and external processes, as well as monitoring rules of good practice, is crucial to achieving this.

This course:

  • Gives an overview of all the stages in the supply chain, from supplier to end customer, examining all the company’s departments and their role
  • Suggests techniques to help the professional manage his/her operations effectively
  • Optimizes the ‘value chain’ of the company
