“This is the highest Analytics certification a Microsoft partner can get and a new requirement from Microsoft to further segment its partners’ network. It brings our 3 existing Gold Partnerships -for Data Analytics, Data Platform and Cloud Platform- to a whole new level” comments Stijn Vermeulen, Managing Partner at element61. “It is a major achievement for our Business Intelligence & Data Science teams working on innovative Azure Analytics based projects together with a growing number of customers”.

The Analytics on Microsoft Azure Advanced Specialization validates a partner’s deep experience in planning and delivering Analytics solutions in Microsoft Azure, enabling customers to use the full breadth of their data assets to help build transformative and secure analytical solutions at enterprise scale. To obtain the Advanced Specialization certification, Microsoft partners must meet the highest standards for service delivery and support. These requirements are verified by Microsoft and a third-party during a comprehensive audit.

In the audit, the implementation at 5 Azure Analytics customers was reviewed and challenged by the external auditor. A team composed of Karel Moijson - Director Microsoft Analytics, Timothy Van Brusselen - Director Microsoft Analytics and Bart Van Der Vurst - Partner Analytics successfully defended the architecture & security, the Azure components selected and the Best Practices implemented.

According to Bart Van Der Vurst, Partner Analytics at element61 “obtaining such Advanced Specialization with Microsoft is important for element61 and its Microsoft customers because:

  • it demonstrates element61’s unique expertise and experience in implementing and coaching customers in Azure on DataFactory, DataBricks, and Synapse
  • it helps element61 to validate and challenge our way-of-working including sharpening our approach to data modeling & transformation, data flow setup, security, monitoring and creating re-useable Azure specific best-practices
  • it rewards and recognizes the element61 team and our customers for working with Azure day-to-day, and for their hard work and commitment to lead the pack in Analytics in the Belgian market.”

element61 started working with the Microsoft Cloud as early as in 2010, in the context of the EFRO funded project “Business Intelligence in the Cloud research”-project. Later, element61 was amongst the first Belgian partners of Microsoft to build successful Azure-based Analytics solutions. The company has since closely followed every (r)evolution in this platform, leading into a very broad customer base that have Analytical solutions running on Azure.

With this Advanced Specialization, element61 re-enforces its leading position as the most Senior team in Analytics in Belgium. The company employs today over 75 people with on average more than 11 years of experience in the Business Analytics domain.
