Extending Microsoft Fabric with Airflow & dbt

During your internship, you’ll collaborate with experienced consultants, contribute to real-life projects, and learn how modern data solutions are designed, built, and delivered. You’ll have the space to learn, experiment, and grow, while making a meaningful contribution to our client projects and internal initiatives.

Microsoft Fabric is rapidly evolving, yet many organizations are still looking for more advanced workflow orchestration, flexible scheduling, and mature analytics engineering tooling than what Fabric natively offers today. In this internship, you will investigate how Airflow and dbt can be integrated into a Fabric-based data platform to fill these gaps and enable more scalable, maintainable, and production-ready data workflows.

You will explore the end-to-end landscape:

• dbt as a powerful transformation framework for building modular, tested, analytics-ready datasets,
• Apache Airflow as an enterprise orchestration engine,
• Microsoft Fabric as the central analytics & BI platform.

The goal is to understand how these tools can complement Fabric, where they add value, and when organizations should consider integrating them into their modern data architecture.
