Data Scientist
In 2020 Pieter-Jan obtained a Master in Business Economics at the Catholic University of Leuven, focussed on international business, strategy, and innovation. Driven by his curiosity and desire to enhance his technical skills, he also pursued a Master in Statistics and Data Science, which he obtained in 2023.
In the second year of his Master in Statistics and Data Science, he took on the role of a statistics tutor, helping fellow students overcome challenges in statistics courses and providing them with a good study method.
Furthermore, Pieter-Jan had the opportunity to gain practical experience through a data science internship, where he worked on real-life projects involving supply chain optimization and demand forecasting. This hands-on experience allowed him to further develop his data science skills.
Since joining element61 in September 2023, Pieter-Jan has developed a deep understanding of Azure Databricks and has been involved in creating Generative AI applications using Python, Vue.js, and Azure. He is deeply interested in the emerging field of generative AI and is continually seeking to expand his knowledge.
In addition to his academic and professional pursuits, he also is an avid enthusiast of the seaside and water activities, especially surfing. During the weekends if the weather conditions are favorable, he tries to get out with his friends and enjoy it to the fullest.
