Himanshu Sharma

Himanshu is a Data Scientist and AI Engineer with a multidisciplinary background spanning Electrical Engineering, Environmental Studies, and Statistics & Data Science from KU Leuven. His work sits at the intersection of modern AI, advanced statistical modeling, and real-world impact.

During his Master’s thesis at ILVO (Ghent) and KU Leuven, Himanshu worked on predictive analytics and time-series-aware yield forecasting models using multimodal deep learning, significantly improving model accuracy for agricultural applications. He has since applied his expertise across diverse domains, including healthcare, insurance, and climate policy, developing solutions that translate complex data into actionable insights.

Himanshu has experience working in a fast-paced startup environment, where he engineered core platform components, internal algorithms, and agentic AI workflows. His work spans backend engineering, API development, machine learning, and deploying scalable AI systems in production environments.

He is particularly passionate about sustainability, AI governance and philosophical questions around technology and society. Outside of work, Himanshu enjoys spending time outdoors, whether going for a run or hiking!
