The Logistics and Supply Chain Devision wanted a system that allows a detailed profitability analysis with a higher granularity of cost and budget data then currently available in their application. Costs need to be allocated at a much more detailed level (Product group, Source, Channel and Activity) based on resource and cost drivers so that the cost per unit can be calculated at the lowest level of granularity. The allocation logic of SAP BPC was intensively used in this implementation, using a phased scripting approach (data is allocated in different steps allowing a high transparency).
