Manu Claessens

Manu graduated in June 2021 with a Master of Science in Statistical Data Analysis in Computational Statistics. Before that, he obtained a Master of Science in Biology in the Global Change Ecology track.

His first work experience was a traineeship at Volvo Group combined with a day-to-day job as a Logistics Engineer at the truck plant in Ghent. Subsequently, he continued his data journey in March 2023 by accepting a position as a Data Scientist Associate in the Data Scientist Chapter at Volvo Group.

Manu has experience in Python, R, SQL, SAS, Databricks and the Microsoft Power Platform, with a special interest in Power BI and Power Apps. He is a highly energetic individual with strong listening skills and an intrinsic drive to carry data projects from start to finish. He likes extracting the essence of complex data by creating beautiful visualizations. Moreover, he works in a structured manner, creates extensive documentation, and likes to communicate with and present relevant results to all project stakeholders.
