Michel graduated with a Master in Applied Economics and a complementary Master in International Business, both at KU Leuven.

After finishing his studies, he moved into the consulting world, where he has now 12 years of experience. His career started with 4 years in Management Consulting followed by 8 years in Business Intelligence Consulting. Michel has worked on projects at organizations such as Umicore, the European Commission, Eurocontrol, Veolia, AB InBev, GSK, UCB, Novartis, and MSD.

Before he started working in Business Intelligence Consulting, Michel also worked at FedEx's EMEA headquarters for 4 years, focusing on strategic marketing and forecasting. This role allowed him to explore data-driven decision-making in a corporate environment and prepared him for the BI consulting landscape.

For the last several years, he has directed his focus toward data modelling and visualization. His work covers a wide range of activities from gathering business requirements and developing technical solutions to creating the final product and discussing these solutions with clients. He has strong expertise in tools like Qlik Sense, Power BI and Tableau.

Michel also has extensive expertise in ETL tools, particularly with Informatica and Alteryx, as well as experience in project management and coaching. In the last few years, he has further expanded his skill set by acquiring proficiency in Python to do some advanced analytics projects and data science.

Next to his professional life, Michel enjoys sports like padel, running, and snowboarding. His passion for travel has seen him journey to various parts of the world, including South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. In these regions, he also participated in several social projects.

Most recently, Michel celebrated a significant life event with the birth of his daughter, a joyous occasion he shares with his wife.
