Director Analytics

Graduated in economics in 1986 from the University of Liège, Jean-Marc started his career as an auditor at KPMG. After different roles in various financial positions in some large international companies, Jean-Marc joined the Lhoist Group in 1993 as a Financial Analyst, before becoming the Group Controller in 1995 and the Benelux CFO in 1998.

Moving to IT and becoming the Lhoist Group CIO in 2000, Jean-Marc led an SAP Roadmap project consisting of implementing an SAP single tenant in all business units and geographies of the Group.

After a short experience between 2005 and 2008 within the Brunswick Group as VP Strategic Planning and Business Development, fueled by a desire to venture into entrepreneurship, Jean-Marc decided to exit the corporate landscape and establish his own business.

Passionate about data and analytics, Jean-Marc co-founded and co-led Velixis in 2009, a Business Intelligence consulting company specialized in Business Objects and focused on SAP accounts, where he introduced the Qlik practice in early 2010.
In 2012, Velixis was sold to the Micropole Group and subsequently, in 2015, became Micropole Belgium.

In December 2015, Jean-Marc founded WeQan. Since its inception, WeQan has been exclusively dedicated to Qlik, delivering QlikView and Qlik Sense expertise to over 150 customers in the last eight years. Expanding its service portfolio in 2022, WeQan now includes Power BI in its offerings. In December 2023, WeQan joined forces with element61, where Jean-Marc currently serves as the Director Analytics, spearheading the development of the Walloon market.
