Nicolas Simon

Nicolas obtained a Master in Management, option Investments & Corporate Finance from the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL) in 2015.

Before joining element61, Nicolas was a Manager at Ernst & Young (EY) in the Data & Analytics team. There, he worked for several years on various projects related to data engineering & for customers in the insurance and financial sector. Step-by-step, he grew into a Data & Analytics Architect role.

Nicolas has extensive experience with both Analytics & AI tooling, ranging from on-premise Microsoft tools (such as SQL Server, SSIS & SSAS) to Modern Data Platform tools on Azure (incl. Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory & others). Nicolas has both data warehousing experience and data engineering expertise (incl. both Python and Spark and working experience in Apache Kafka, Jenkins, Docker & containerized development).

Nicolas is Azure Fundamentals and Azure Data Fundamentals certified. Nicolas is also certified in Apache Airflow.
