Michael graduated as a Bachelor in Information Management & Security (IMS) at Thomas More in June 2019. As field of specialization he choose Business Intelligence, as he believes that BI is the bridge between data and successful management of a company.
During his studies Michael was active in the Student Council, in which he was vice-chairmen for two years. He also was a director in the Board of Directors of Thomas More for two years. As a result of these activities Michael had a chance to learn and practice his soft skills and build experience in working with interdisciplinary teams.
Both as a student and student representative, Michael had a drive for improvement, not only for himself but also for his colleagues.
Michael performed a Business Intelligence internship at the Belgium Public Prosecution Service. His task was to start a project of visualization for amongst others the correctional year statistics. For the implementation of this project he used SAS Visual Analytics and Microsoft Power BI. As the result of this internship, the Public Prosecution Service took their first steps into the world of BI with guidance on how to proceed.
Michael joined element61 in July 2019. Since then he has been embraced by the team and learned a lot in the area of data warehousing, Microsoft stack and TimeXtender. He also passed certification exams for MS Power BI, T-SQL, Developing SQL Data Models and became certified Azure Data Engineer Associate. He got also the opportunity to pick-up some internal projects to gain some more hands-on experience with SSIS, Power BI and DAX. This made him ready for valuable contribution in several customer projects including customer training. Michael has proven,and certified, TimeXtender Solution Architect knowledge thanks to his hard work and dedication on several projects. Michael is also one of our respected Academy trainers hosting MS Power BI training and update sessions.
