Principal Performance Management Architect

Kevin De Ruyck obtained a Master in Applied Economic Sciences in 2009 at the UGent. His Master Dissertation was focused around the Balanced Scorecard ("The use of the balanced scorecard: linking different enabling theories”).

Afterwards, Kevin worked for 4 years as a Business Controller at Randstad, with increasing responsibilities. Using OLAP-based solutions, he performed variance analysis and created management information for the board. He analyzed and created insight into direct costing, budgeting and forecasting. Kevin used his passion for Microsoft Excel and VBA to standardize the monthly closing and Reporting package. He discovered MS Access as a less error-prone alternative for Excel, and developed several applications in this database-platform. As an Oracle Hyperion Essbase administrator, he set up dimension structures and created new cubes. He came in contact with IBM Cognos TM1 as a budgeting solution, but also in combination with Hyperion Essbase and Dodeca for forecasting. He developed ETL-processes for Hyperion and Tagetik and created financial reports using these CPM-applications.

These activities awakened interest with Kevin to get the opportunity to build these Business Analytics solutions from scratch on a project-basis. In 2014, he started working in a production-environment with MS Dynamics AX as ERP-system. Here he was the link between Business and IT. He implemented a cost center and profit center structure. He was also in charge of Business Intelligence. Based on self-study in MS SQL Server, he used SSIS, SSAS and Excel to create a sales reporting solution. Based on this project he developed an interest in BI and data warehousing.

In 2015, Kevin joined element61 where he is involved in and further specializes in CPM related technologies like SAP BPC and Tagetik, next to Business Intelligence with the Microsoft SQL Server platform.

In his free time, Kevin enjoys fitness and skiing.
